Sages of Old

In this artwork I simply wanted to present the Seven Sages from Ocarina of Time as they've never been seen before. In an elderly stage. Their appearance comes from decades after the end of Ocarina of Time, Adult Timeline.

Here's the story behind each of the elderly sages:

-Zelda became the Queen of Hyrule and the wisest of all the sages. She summons the other sages regularly to discuss important matters of the land. Every year, on the anniversary of Ganon's defeat, Zelda takes some time to go to the Temple of Time and watch the Master Sword for hours. Then she gives thanks to the goddesses for sending the hero who saved her land.

-Saria became a forest guardian and helps protect the Kokiri Forest from the Forest Temple. To protect themselves and become one with nature, Saria and the Kokiri are in the early stages of becoming living plant creatures which the Great Deku Tree has renamed Koroks. Saria can be found on some afternoons sitting in front of the temple playing her song in memory of her old friend.

-Darunia passed the leadership of the Gorons to his son many years ago. He is now a Goron elder and lives in the Fire Temple. Gorons from all over the world travel to Hyrule seeking his advice and to dance in his rituals atop Death Mountain. From time to time, Darunia enters the room where Volvagia was defeated to remember the great trials his Sworn Brother went through to save his people.

-Ruto became the Queen of the Zoras after her father's death and proud successor of Lord Jabu-Jabu as the Zora's guardian. She watches over all bodies of water and visits the Water Temple every day to make her prayers. Every morning, Ruto takes a minute to watch over a healthy Lake Hylia and give thanks for the hero who saved it.

-Impa became the Royal Advisor of the queen and is also the guardian of Kakariko Village. Her authority in Hyrule is only second to Queen Zelda. She visits the Shadow Temple every day to meditate for hours. Every year, Impa accompanies the queen to the Temple of Time. While Zelda watches the Master Sword, Impa stands in a corner looking at her and remembers the hero who protected her princess when she was unable to.

-Nabooru mastered Twinrova's sorcery and became the most powerful sorceress in Hyrule. She resides in the Spirit Temple were Gerudo women often visit her for guidance. Every year, Nabooru hosts a tournament which tests the Gerudo's combat skills. The winner is awarded a Mirror Shield. The tournament was Nabooru's tribute to the hero who defeated the man who brought great deception to her people.

-Rauru watches over Ganon's seal from the Temple of Time. He endures a great deal of sorrow as a result of watching the beautiful Sacred Realm slowly become a dark wasteland, corrupted by Ganon’s evil spirit. After so many years, Rauru has started to feel an unsettling force coming from the other side of the seal…
